About Me

Hi!  Thanks for checking out my blog!  I’m Sarah – daughter, sister, wife, mother, multi-tasker extraordinaire, and hopeful photographer!  Those of you who know me well know that I have had many different interests over the years.  The one constant has been photography.  I really can’t remember not having a camera.

I think my love of pictures was inherited from my Grandpa.  He always had a camera at all our family events and we used to joke about how many pictures he took.  I actually have a ton of pictures that I took of him taking a picture of me! We were both picture crazy! But now, I cherish all those old photos.  My favorite ones are always the silly-faced, non-posed, non-traditional shots of our family just having fun and being who we are.  Those are still the moments I love to capture.

I have albums and albums full of pictures from growing up (thank goodness now for digital!), but I haven’t ever really been serious about it until having a baby.  I decided I wanted to document my son’s first year of life in photographs and document I did!  I ended up with thousands (yes thousands – I know…I’m crazy!) of pictures – again, yay digital!  Over that year, I realized how much I loved photography.  It gave me a creative outlet and allowed me to capture all those special memories of that first year that go by so fast!  I think that’s what I love most about photography – it gives you a chance to document, preserve, remember, reflect and cherish memories that may otherwise be lost.  Am I embarrassed I took that many pictures of my son that first year?  Yeah, a little…  Do I still take that many pictures?  ABSOLUTELY!  Photography has become so much a part of my daily life, and I am completely hooked!
